Star jasmine- Will it climb on a Brick wall or need a trellis?

I just got two 5 gal star jasmine. I would love to use it to cover a back wall or to hide my shed. Do I need to buy a trellis for it? How about keeping it on a pot, maybe with a cone shape tomato wire. Anyone done this? Pls help. I live in So Cal.

most people grow star jasmine on walls using small screws (like the ones you use to hold up a painting) and some thin wire connecting the screws.

i have grow many from a large pot and they are all doing fine.

also star jasmine flower mostly on the horizontal branching so the more the vine runs horizontal the more flowers you will get.
Reply:Jasmine is my favorite scent. It does need something to grow on since it is a vine. You will have to train it as it grows but just about anything will do from a trellis to rope. How ever I do recommend the trellis this will help it grow thicker and fuller. When you can spray with miracle grow for health.
Reply:It will make a good ground cover, climb into trees or trellis, but it will not stick to a wall. I reccomend planting in the ground. If it suffers freeze damage, it will recover from the roots.
