My daughter would like a celtic knot tattoo with her name around it on her left wrist, but she's afraid it will not fit in with the kongi symbol on her right wrist.
Is there anyone here who can give me the gaelic translation of Jazmin (the flower Jasmine) to help her out with her design??? (if there is one)
Thank you
The Gaelic spelling for Jasmine??
There is no real Irish Gaelic translation for Jasmine.
The "made up" translation is "seasmaine".
Its not exactly real Irish though, the Irish government translates all its documents into Irish and if they need to translate a word that doesnt exist in Irish they will create a new Irish sounding version which is what "seasmaine" so i dont think many Irish people would recognise it as an Irish word.
She might like to consider using Bláth which means flower.

Why has my pink jasmine stopped blooming??
I have this pink jasmine plant growing in my yard. Its small about 3 feet tall. It was beautiful and blloming liek crazy, but it suddenly stopped. the others around the neighborhood havent. Its still growing though. new leaves lately. what could be wrong with my plant?
Why has my pink jasmine stopped blooming??
try a product like super-bloom, just may be a micro-climate situation.( to much sun or not enough). in most cases jasmine blooms in the spring time.
Reply:because it is dieing for some reason!

How do I get jasmine rice to stick together?
I sent my roommate out to get me rice to make Onigiri with (silly me, I did not specify which kind of rice) and she brought back jasmine rice. I cooked it as I would normally make my sticky rice (steamed in my rice cooker with just enough water to cover it), but it is not sticking together when I form an Onigiri. I hate to throw this big pot of rice out, so can someone tell me how to make it stick?
Thanks!
How do I get jasmine rice to stick together?
Jasmine, like other long grain rices are NOT supposed to stick together. For sticky rice use short grain rice.

Does anyone have a Jasmine wedding gown, collection F909, size 8, in white that they would be willing to sell?
Here are some pictures of the dress:

I'm getting married in a few months and I already have a dress, but I second guess everything! I love my dress so I probably shouldn't even bother with considering getting another one but I would just like to know if it's out there. Yes, I have tried this dress on in the past and it was one of my top picks! Does anyone have a Jasmine wedding gown, collection style F909, size 8, in white that they would be willing to sell for cheap?
Also, do you like the shininess of the taffeta or is it too much? If anyone has pictures of this dress (not the ones on the internet, that would be helpful too!)

You are going to drive yourself crazy second guessing everything when it comes to your wedding. You already have a dress so you should stop looking for another one.
As for the shininess of the taffeta, why does it matter what we think none of us will be at your wedding. I want to see the dress you actually already have.
Reply:try posting it at your local craiglist or theknott has a trash to treasure site you could look to see if any one has one there.you can search for that dress on ebay too. yes a like the shininess of the taffa . good luck !!

Advice on Transplanting Star Jasmine??
I have tried to transplant Star Jasmine NINE TIMES and have failed each time. Everything I read says it is fast growing and EASY to cultivate, yet mine ALWAYS seems to dry up and die ~ even when watered daily, every other day, Bi-weekly. I've planted in full sun to full shade and every photosynthetic op in between. I've tried EVERYTHING! Any suggestions? I am in Northeastern Texas if that helps.
Advice on Transplanting Star Jasmine??
I am so sorry for your frustration. Make sure you transplant when the weather is cool(Apr, May, June, Oct, Nov.) Do not try when frost threatens.
Dig your intended hole first. Carefully dig up the plant making sure to get a good rootball with dirt attached. Or are you talking about from a container? Carefully plop the plant into the new hole. Cover with soil and compost to the same height the plant was before. Do not plant deeper than before. Thoroughly soak with water.
In my experience Star Jasmine tends to sit for quite awhile before new growth appears. Don't be discouraged.
Good luck. Remember only in COOL weather.

Is hard, long grain (Jasmine) rice hard to digest?
I know there are three types of long grain rice: California, Carolina, and Jasmine (in order of increasing hardness).
Is firmer rice more difficult to digest -- bad for you?
Is softer rice like California more expensive than firmer rice?
Is hard, long grain (Jasmine) rice hard to digest?
All rice swells up with the cooking water and becomes soft for serving.
Jasmine rice is fine but I generally use Basmati rice in my home, although I use many types of rice according to the recipe.
The organic rice is most expensive.

Stick with the traditional spelling of the name, other wise your poor little girl will go through life always having to correct people and explain how to spell it. It's a beautiful name.

Help my night blooming jasmine. leaves r turning yellow.?
i have a beautiful fragrant night blooming jasmine and its now on bloom. it lives in a pot and looked quite happy and healthy. lately it seems like its depressed with yellow leaves that have started from the bottom of the plant and now the leaves around the mid of the plants r turning yellow too. after it turns yellow it falls away. i fertilize it with liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks but still no help. it basically has no leaves around the bottom, right above the soil level. and i donno what i should do? should i crush some calcium tablets that us humans consume? i have no idea. pls help if u know these plants. thank you.
Help my night blooming jasmine. leaves r turning yellow.?
You are overwatering and over fertilising. It may need more sunlight.
Reply:sounds like over fertilizing it,, jasmines do that they will yellow and droop but once watered perk back up a few hrs later i had potted ones in the shade and looked great then put them in the ground in full sun and it takes a little while with care but they should bounce back they are definitly a watched over plant..

Disneyworld Face Characters (Ariel, Jasmine, Kim Possible)?
I’ve already heard the stories about fathers fondling and groping the Disneyworld face characters, and I couldn’t seem to get this question answered before. For anyone whose been Ariel, Jasmine, and/or Kim Possible at Disneyworld, did you ever have to deal with children or anyone in general fooling around with your bellybutton? This includes them asking bellybutton-related questions to you. What exactly happened? What exactly did you do/how exactly did you handle it? Thanks.
Disneyworld Face Characters (Ariel, Jasmine, Kim Possible)?
Well you could say that I'm very "close friends" with a few princesses at Walt Disney World Resorts, and i'd be more than happy to answer your questions if you would like to email me. Otherwise though, it's best not to discuss such subjects in such an open forum because it kind of ruins the magic of Disney. So you can email me at:

if you would like :)

Who sells the best Jasmine Green Tea???
What is the brand name?? I use to drink Jasmine Green Tea a few years ago %26amp; love it. Now I can't find it anywhere %26amp; I don't remember which company I bought it from :(
Any suggestions? or Your favorite brand??
Who sells the best Jasmine Green Tea???
Harney and Sons makes "dragon pearl jasmine", a green tea..probably not the one you are familiar with but check out www.harney.com. for more...
I'm not a big fan of green teas myself but this one is immensely popular
You can order these teas by mail, phone, and internet to be shipped to your home or business
Reply:Go to your local asian grocer. They usually got the best.
Reply:The Republic of Tea - they are pricey but definitely worth it

Sticky substance on my Jasmine Tree.?
I have a small indoor jasmine type tree (not sure of the variety) which has a sticky substance oozing from it - it covers the leaves in the bottom of the pot and is now on my carpet. I'm wondering if it is some type of mite.
Research has revealed that I can spray it with water, an alcohol mixture or soap to try and control the infestation, but I'm not sure which is the best course of action.
This tree also seems rather limp, leaves are yellowing and fall off rather easily - it has not bloomed since we brought it home last fall.
Currently it is in paritial sun (morning sun, afternoon shadier) and receives watering when the 1.5 cms feels dry.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions?
Sticky substance on my Jasmine Tree.?
What you have on your Jasimie are scale which is a sucking insect. The sticky is the honeydue that they secrete and they suck the nutrients form your plant. Once scale get that established, it is very difficult to get rid of. If you are very diligent and are willing to spend a lot of time to devote to the problem, I can tell you how to rid the plant of the infestation. It is very time consuming and unless you are dedecated, you will not get rid of the scale exce[pt by burning the plant(the only true organic method!) I have managed tropical greenhouses for over 36 years.
You need to spray the plant once every 7 days with an insecticide that works on scale. If your plant is an indoor houseplant, Horticultural oil is excellent because it coats the insects and blocks the breathing holes. They can not build up an immunity to it. that is day one. Days two through six, you need to check the plant and scrape off the scale and squish it with your fingernail to make sure it is dead. If it falls live into the soil, it will just crawl back up.
Spray day 7 again.
You need to continue this proceedure until you do not see any insects for two consecutive weeks, spraying day seven again.
Just to let you know, Jasmine are very suseptible to scale. The alchol will do nothing to the scale. Alchol will only kill mealy bug, and no other insect..
If you have a Jasmine that is planted outside in your tropical environment, Orthene Isotox workd very wll on scale. But it is not for inside use. Use it once every 7 days until you do not see any more bugs.
Keep a close watch on all you plants inside and out, and with a weekly check you may never have to use an insecticide again.
Jasming need very bright light all day. Keep the soil moist at all time and mist the leaves daily to keep them hydrated. The yellowing and falling may be because of the drying if the soil and the insects as well as lack of bright light.
If you are interested in learnilng all about growing houseplants and giving them what they need and knowing what they need, you can visit www.nature-in-design.com. Good luck

Why doesn't my Jasmine bloom?
I live in southern california so the weather is always nice and I water it regularly. It's ability to vine is great but it just won't flower. My niegbors Jasmine flowers but they don't speak english so I can't really ask them what they do.
Why doesn't my Jasmine bloom?
2 things to solve this
Make sure it is in full sun, light really effects the flowering of some plants e.g. ever seen a tree under a street light flower on one side .
%26lt;N : %26gt;K reduce the amount of nitrogen and give the plant more potassium. You can buy potassium sulphate on its own and throw a handful around the plant every month or so. otherwise get a flower and fruit type fertilizer, they normally have about 26% potassium and 16% nitrogen. It will give you more and better quality blooms, and will also give the plant a better appearance.
Reply:Excellent! Report It
Reply:A possibility is that you are using fertilizer with too much nitrogen! Nitrogen makes plants develop their green parts like their leaves, but no or very few flowers will develop! Even if you are not using such fertilizer, it is still possible, that there is too much nitrogen in your soil. In that case you should cut back the plant and dig it out and exchange the soil. After that put the plant back in and use a proper fertilizer! After a while you should have plenty of flowers!
Reply:we have 2 plants of jasmine..the one that gets sun 3/4 of the day blooms like mad.....the one in the shade for 3/4 never blooms...
Reply:what language do they speak? some bilingual people here can probably type up a note asking how to do the flowers, and you can give the note to your neighbor...just post another question for best results i think

Algebra 2 - Quadratic Equations- What are the length and width of Jasmine's rectangle?
Jasmine drew a rectangle which is 143 square mm. Ethan drew a rectangle inside of Jasmine's which is 35 square mm. Ethan's rectangle has a three mm border between his and Jasmine's rectangle. What are the length and width of Jasmine's rectangle?
A13 mm by 11 mm
B12 mm by 11 mm
C15 mm by 15 mm
D13 mm by 12 mm
E13 mm by 13 mm
F14 mm by 15 mm
Noah is trying to qualify for a race. A driver needs to complete 8 laps of a seven-mile track at an average speed of 105.66 mph to qualify. Noah has already completed the first three laps. His average speed so far is ninety-two mph. What must his average speed be for the rest of the race to qualify?
A Approximately 146 mph
B Approximately 96 mph
C Approximately 116 mph
D Approximately 136 mph
E Approximately 106 mph
F Approximately 126 mph
Algebra 2 - Quadratic Equations- What are the length and width of Jasmine's rectangle?
Let jw and jl be the length and width of Jasmine's rectangle, and ew and el be the length and width of Ethan's rectangle
We know:
jw * jl = 143
Solve for jw
jw = 143 / jl
We also know
ew * el = 35
ew = jw - 6
el = jl - 6
Plug in ew and el
ew * el = 35
(jw - 6) * (jl - 6) = 35
jw jl - 6 jl - 6 jw + 36 = 35
jw jl - 6 jl - 6 jw = 35 - 36
jw jl - 6 jl - 6 jw = -1
Now plug in jw from the top, and solve for jl
(143 / jl) jl - 6 jl - 6 (143 / jl) = -1
143 - 6 jl - (858 / jl) = -1
143 + 1 = 6 jl + (858 / jl)
144 = (6 jl^2 + 858) / jl
144 jl = 6 jl^2 + 858
6 jl^2 + 858 - 144 jl = 0
jl^2 - 24 jl + 143 = 0
jl^2 - 24 jl + 143 = 0
(jl - 13)(jl - 11) = 0
Two answers
jl - 13 = 0
jl = 13
And
jl - 11 = 0
jl = 11
So the dimentions of Jasmine's rectangle is 13 by 11, whci makes A the correct answer
Total distance = 8 * 7 = 56 miles
The time to qualify = 56 / 105.66 = 0.53 hours
Noah had already done 3 * 7 = 21 miles
And it has taken him 21 / 92 = 0.2283 hours
Distance remaining = 56 - 21 = 35 miles
Time remaining = 0.53 - 0.2283 = 0.3017 hours
To go 35 miles in 0.3017 hours, you have to go
35 / 0.3017 = 116 mph
So the correct answer is C
I hope this helped

Should I use jasmine rice or regular long grain rice for fried rice?
I like the flavor of jasmine rice better, but I want to use the kind that works best for fried rice.
Should I use jasmine rice or regular long grain rice for fried rice?
You can use any rice you want, but long grain works best in my experience
Reply:Personally I think you should go in for long grain rice. As it does not stick, the oil enhances the flavour once the rice is fried.
Reply:Well, I got good news for you. You can use the jasmine rice, even though long grain rice is what is normally used.
So go fer it!
Reply:regular long grain
Reply:Long grain is the usual sort to use, but I like jasmine better, so that's just me because I like my rice really sticky. It really all depends on taste -- jasmine makes it all stick together, but regular rice keeps every grain apart.
Reply:Use long grain rice for fried rice and jasmin rice for steamed rice.

White substance on Jasmine plant?
I have had a "Jasmine tree" for a few months and this morning I noticed a white sticky substance growing on its' leaves. Does anyone know what this is? Is this natural or should I remove it? Thanks!

Caring for Pink Jasmine trees. Can you help?
I live in SoCal. I bought two Pink Jasmine trees for my semi-covered, south-facing patio. One is alive, but stopped blooming. The other dies almost completely, grows like crazy, dies again...within months. What the heck is going on?
I thought it had too much sun...then not enough. Not enough water, then too much.
What do I do? Help!
My tomatoes are growing perfectly.
Caring for Pink Jasmine trees. Can you help?
some plants don't like growing pots, if their in the ground, does the water soak down 10 inches ? try a good organic mulch like composted leaves + grass clippings

Honeysuckle and night jasmine?
The flowers of honeysuckle and night jasmine look a lot similar. Are they the same species and do they smell similar too?
Honeysuckle and night jasmine?
They are not closely related.
The honeysuckle plants are in the plant family Caprifoliaceae and genus Lonicera. Honeysuckle include Lonicera periclymenum the Woodbine or Lonicera sempervirens the coral honeysuckle. They attract both butterflies and moths with the paler, fragrant flowers but attract hummingbirds with the vividly color species like Lonicera sempervirens.
However the Night Scented or Night Blooming Jasmine is Cestrum nocturnum in the plant family Solance and Genus Cestrum.
The reason the flowers are similar in structure is they are both pollinated by Lepidoptera (butterflies %26amp; moths) or hummingbirds but all with long tongues. Night flying moths visit pale colored blossoms like the jasmine with strong evening %26amp; night released scents for nectar %26amp; pollination while hummingbirds visit bright colored tubular flowers. Butterflies go for a range of colors as long as they are sweetly scented in the day.

http://www.plant-supplies.com/plants/ces...
The active odorant in Night Jasmine is the same as in Abelia grandiflora, phenylacetaldehyde.
http://books.google.com/books?id=KQkBqF3...
The active odorants in Woodbine include metabolites of amino acids like oximes, nitriles and nitro-compounds, have been detected.
http://www.bojensen.net/EssentialOilsEng...
Plants expend a lot of resources in coloring or scenting flowers so they are, usually, either colorful or fragrant.

I'm making a bath out of epsom salts and jasmine tea?
I'm making a bath from epsom salts and jasmine tea for my mom. It calls for 500mg of salt and 2 teabags of jasmine. She has sore muscles and most products we've bought make it worse. I'm sure the epsom salts will help but don't know about the jasmine tea. Can anyone tell me what jasmines good for And any other idea's for sore muscles?
I'm making a bath out of epsom salts and jasmine tea?
The jasmine root is used in China to treat headaches, insomnia, and pain due to dislocated joints and broken bones; it is reported to have anaesthetic properties..Several Jasminium species have been used in cancers. Make sure you use 2c. of Epsom salts to help pull out the lactic acid that forms on the muscles. After the bath have your mother massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.
500mg of calcium and magnesium taken daily will help reduce the pain in muscles.

Belle vs. Princess Jasmine - Which Princess would win?
Which Disney Princess would win in a fight? BatB's Belle or Aladdin's Princess Jasmine? No Prep, Standard Equipment, both are bloodlusted and taking no prisoners.

Jasmine. She's much more hardcore. She has a tiger and she ran away from the castle on her own. Badass.

Nonetheless, Jasmine will toss Belle like a red-headed stepchild. Belle is tough, but she never took on an all-powerful sorcerer or undead warriors, which Jasmine has. Heck, Rajah should pretty much seal her victory right there so she doesn't even have to fight (Belle could hardly handle the wolves on her own).

Awesome jeans for less than at the regular boutiques? I saw a handbag that I love in JS the regular store and it didn't sell so it got taken off the shelf so was it shipped to the JS warehouse? Is eating White Jasmine rice healtheir than white rice?
Well recently I've been on an organic diet. I traveled to an organic supermarket named WholeFoods. One of the rices they offered is white jasmine. When I compare the taste to regular white rice I see no significant differance. But Am I eating healthier......or is no?
Is eating White Jasmine rice healtheir than white rice?
hum... White Jasmine Rice is actually just a kind of Thai rice. No big deal about it except for its fragrance. Well, at least this is what I've learned when I was living in Malaysia. My in laws would only buy Jasmine Rice... and well, I have to agree that this variation of rice is quite good tasting. For a healthier eating, if I am not mistaken, the best is the brown rice. My mom cooked it for quite some time, but I didn't like it much. At my understanding being a healthy eater, one must eat lots of vege, fruits, cereals, but should also eat a little bit of meat, eggs, poutry, fish, etc. Human body is not like cows that only need veges. We also need protein and other stuff that is in the meat. Of course, I am not talking about eating tones of meat, but I think every human should eat a litte bit. But anyway, it is a very good decision that u made by having an organic diet. Keep it up.
Reply:White rice is still white rice. It's just flavored (hopefully) naturally. Any whole grain rice is better for you.
Reply:White rice is white rice. The only rice that is healthier is brown rice because it has not been overly processed.
Reply:white rice is refined carbohydrates. simple sugars! if you wanna eat healthy try brown rice, complex carb and hi-fibre
Reply:If you are truly eating organic then you are eating healthier - that is, you are eating food w/o pesticides.
My doubts about organic foods is that you often see organic food farms across the road or down wind from industrial farms. Get my point?
Reply:Jasmine rice is a type of rice, like Basmati, what makes it white is when they remove the hull. Rice is healthier when the hull is left on. So If your idea is to eat healthier then any brown rice is going to be better for you. Jasmine rice has a wonderfull aroma. try to get it in brown.
Hope this helps

I think you can. Just put your clipping in a bottle or glass with some root tone in it. Leave it for a week and see if you get any roots.

Winter habbits of Jasmine?
I own a couple jasmine plants (outdoors) and I'm wondering if they will maybe drop seeds and come back next year or stay alive through the winter (l live in southern Wisonsin). They have only a single flower between them (they are pretty big though!!). What will happen with them during the winter - will they come back?
Winter habbits of Jasmine?
Carolina jasmine (yellow) is hardier by far than Star jasmine (white). Star will not make it. Carolina might but keep it watered during the winter to protect the roots and mulch. Good luck.
Reply:Most Jasmine are a warm weather plant. You can try to "winter" them over. You might go to your gardening center and get rooting hormone then cut off some of the branches and have "starting" to winter over in your home. I live in Southern Illinois. I tried to grow Jasmine, but it didn't make though our winter. Ours is milder than yours. Good Luck

I have a jasmine (indian variety also called Mogra) that does not produce any petals?
It blooms in summer (in New Jersey) but the buds are just the outer green leafy petal coverings, with no white fragrant petals inside. I put miracle grow changed soil etc but no change. There are so many buds (without any petals) but no flowers.
I finally planted the plant in the ground from the pot and got a couple of buds with petals. What do I need to do to get a normal bloom on this nice fragrant jasmine plant?

Mine took three years to be a prolific bloomer and I'm in sunny SoCal! I grow it on a trellis against my fence in an upright position and transplanted it from a pot. Just be patient, sometimes it takes time to establish, but once it does, you will start to get irritated picking up all of the deadhead blooms, but your yard will smell wonderful!

How to root jasmine vine?
I have a jasmine vine and would like to root part of it to add in another part of my garden
How to root jasmine vine?
Once the flowering is over in March, trim back the jasmine, and perhaps use this as an opportunity to take the cuttings. The best shoots to choose are those which are neither too "new" or too woody. Cut just under a pair of leaves,m and pinch out the tender tipshoot. Put 2 or 3 cuttings together in a pot with sandy potting soil. Water, cover the pot with a plastic bac, and try to keep the temperature at around 60%F. After 10 - 14 days the new roots should have appeared, the plastic bag can be removed and the pot put in a light and airy spot at about 60 - 65F.
Once the cuttings have grown into small plants they should be replanted in 4-5 inch pots in an airy and nourishing soil. Top the plants out by nipping the tips of the shoots, so that the new plants grow to a more compact, bushy shape. Keep doing this until the beginning of July. Give a well-balanced fertilizer every 14 days until the beginning of September. The young plants can now tolerate lower temperatures (but not below 50%F) If plants must flower around Christmas, keep them at about 60-65F.
Reply:lay a stem down in some moist soil, put some weight on if necessary, keep moist, cut off in 2-3 months and transplant

Can I propagate jasmine from a cutting? How do I do it?
There is some jasmine growing wild along some verges near my house, and I would like to take a cutting and grow it in my garden if this is possible.
Can I propagate jasmine from a cutting? How do I do it?
there are a lot of different types of jasmine..dunno which one u r talking about. but most jasmines can be grown from cuttings. take a 10 cms semi-hardwood cutting in early summer. remove lower leaves any flower buds neatly. dip it in rooting hormone or honey. stuck it in seed growing mix. water it in and cover it with a i litre of coke bottle that has been cut from the bottom. this will keep it humid. keep it in shade for 3-4 weeks. when new growth starts to form, it would have taken roots.
There is another method. on the plant, choose a semi hardwood stem. remove 1 cm of outer bark from the lower end of te stem. put some honey on it (or rooting hormone). then wrap it with some moist sphagnum moss. cover the sphagnum moss with some glad wrap. in 3-4 weeks new roots would have form then cut the stem and plant it in your garden.
The third method is to just bury a few of the stems in the ground while they are still attached to the plant. u can use some bent wire to make sure it stays in place. keep watering. check after 3-4 weeks to see if roots have formed. then u can just cut it from the plant and put it in your garden.
hope it helps.
Reply:I just cut out a few stems and placed them in rooting hormone(not necessary). They are now growing pretty well...i live in the tropics...though....

Is there a jasmine flower vine that actually blooms pink?
The only pink Jasmine I've found is stephanense and it seems to be more like a bush, not a vine.

To answer the question, yes you can. I just had some cold green tea today. They sell large bags especially for making cold tea (barley tea, jasmine tea, or green tea) at Asian markets that you just throw in a pitcher of ice water. It's very refreshing on a hot summer day.
Reply:yes. its taste good for me. drink it everyday, it good for slimming-up too.

You might consider making ice cubes out of green tea to use to cool the liquid green tea.

Clary Sage and Jasmine?
Hi all, i'm almost due and have been told that clary sage and jasmine can start labour. Can anyone please tell me if they have tried it and did it work. I have been told i could go into labour anytime, so i am not taking any unnecessary risks.
Clary Sage and Jasmine?
I used clary sage and rosemary oils in my bath, where I spent all of my first stage of labour. My son was born after only 7 hours, and the midwife was sure that the oils were a contributing factor to how fast things went. It probably would have been a lot faster as well if I wasn't carrying a big baby.
Don't use it neat on your skin thoug, either sniff it from a tissue, use a burner, in the bath or as in a carrier oil for massage.
Reply:Dont mean to be rude in this answer but your partners sperm is a good activator for labour too. So you can do something you enjoy and start labour ! Double bouble !!
Reply:the baby will come when the baby is ready. but a long walk and a long bath could help. good luck
Reply:the best thing to do is have a curry! Sipcy food works. If not soak in a bath or go for a walk. Good Luck
Reply:aromatherapy essential oils have extremely powerful properties and I must stress that they should only be used by a qualified aromatherapist. Don,t put yourself and your baby at risk love.
Reply:hi hope your not in labour now lol. to your question idont think it will start you in labour but they do say scrubbing the kithen floor or a nice hot bath is good for stating labour. they even say a good bit of love making will do the job lol.so good luck and hope all goes well been there 3 times x
Reply:If you are almost due to deliver, it doesn't matter what you use as you cannot harm the child.
Reply:never tried that but sex is a good way to kick start labor as is spicy food, a long walk, or stimulating milk glands

Can you grow jasmine in a window box?
I love the smell of jasmine and I normally plant some out side my bedroom window so when i sleep I can open the window and the smell fragrants my room. However I just moved and my new bedroom is on the second floor I wanted to plant some in a window box but I dont want to waste my time and energy if they wont do as well.
Can you grow jasmine in a window box?
Jasmine is a great idea for that window, but they are finicky plants. You'll need to keep it evenly watered (not too wet, not too dry) and mist the leaves occasionally.
Reply:yes sure ...
Reply:this plant won't do well in a window box
Reply:I think you can grow almost anything in a window box if you want to.
It would largely depend on the climate in the area in which you live.
Reply:Yes you can, but the vine wont groaw as big as it would in the ground.

Jambalaya fusion recipe? Jasmine rice ok?
I bought Betty Crocker's Chicken Helper Jambalaya, however, I used lean ground beef instead of chicken. I also sauteed the onions w/ the ground beef, drained, used the rest of the ingredients, then added chilie garlice sauce, tomatoe sauce, quail eggs, %26amp; green onions last to add a lil Asian fusion to it. So I started reading the Chicken Helpers ingredients and I started to cringe due to the over abunance of chemicals (I'm a freak ok). I would like to make my own homemade jamabalya using Emeril's Creole seasoning recipe. But my question is if it's ok to use Jasmine rice instead of long grain rice? Will that be ok?
Jambalaya fusion recipe? Jasmine rice ok?
My favorite Jumbalaya mix is by Zataran's. It's readily available on the shelf right next to your Betty Crocker stuff. I add Aidell's Andouille Sausage, salad shrimp and chicken thighs I half cook in the oven covered in cajun seasoning (Emeril's Creole seasoning is very good here).
It's easy and authentic and doesn't require the work of mixing it up yourself. With all three meats (crayfish instead of shrimp if you have it) it's very filling and tasty. Give it a try.
=Dave
Reply:Jasmine has a higher starch content than long grain rice, so it may turn out sticker than normal. Wash the rice really well until the water runs clear to remove as much of the starch as you can.
It will taste a little different but should be good.
Reply:jasmine rice IS the only way!

The name Jasmine.?
Do you like the name Jasmine? What kind of girl do you think of with this name? hair/eye colors and personality.
Thanks!
The name Jasmine.?
I love the name, but unfortunately I had a cat named Jasmine and I can't help but associate it with the princess from Aladdin. With all the marketing being done with the Disney princesses, you're bound to find others that share that connection. (Oh yeah, and I know that Jasmine is a common name for dogs, too - I knew one of those, too.) Too bad, because it's beautiful flower too.
If you love it, though, go for it. It does connotate an exotic beauty, dark hair and green/gold eyes. Personality-wise, I would guess quiet/shy.
Reply:I like this name. I know two Jamsines. one is blonde, petite and quiet and goes by the names of Jazzy. The other is brunette, funky and outgoing and goes by Jazz or Jazzy.
I think that most Jasmines get shortened tp Jazzy so make sure you like this too!
Reply:I quite like the name. I think of a girl with either blond or light brown hair and with blue or green eyes. Her personality would be very carefree and laidback =]
Reply:The Jasmine I knew in school was blond, blue eyed, olive complexion with a kind personality with a hilarious sense of humour! So that is what I associate with the name Jasmine ;)
Reply:i like it very much!!!!
JASMINE MARIE
i think of a little girl with dark hair probably curly black hair, brown eyes and a coffee color complexion.she would be sweet, smart and fun.

Bunnies and Jasmine tea?
your bunny is almost as cute as mine...
your rabbit should be fine, just watch it for a while, and you might want to feed it a little hay. If your rabbit does start to act differently you might want to take it to the vet just to be sure, but I doubt there will be any problems.
Reply:^_^ He should be ok

Night Blooming Jasmine!?
I have allergies to Night Blooming Jasmine, which seems to be the favorite plant in my neighborhood.
My neighbors will not remove those plants.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to lessen the symptoms and enjoy my evenings.?
Night Blooming Jasmine!?
You can wear pollen mask. These are cheap, but you will be looking weird to members of your family. But for me, I don't like medications, so I wear it until the season is over.
The usual standard answer is go to your medical provider and ask for allergy kit. Some medical providers have very good allergy kits depending on the symptoms you suffer.

Pruning Winter Jasmine?
My landlord has given me a couple of flower beds to cultiviate. There's no garden as such, just concretre with the exeption of the flower beds flankng the external walls of my ground floor flat.
The beds have been consumed by a mass of ancient winter jasmine, can anyone tell me when I should prune, and how far I can cut it back without killing it? I really want to be brutal!
Pruning Winter Jasmine?
Jasminum nudiflorum is this your winter jasmine?? Flowers on old wood so prune immediately after blooms fade. to thin it out do basically that, thin it out , it needs to be encouraged to twine around something, be brutal but remember it wont flower for a while if you do and dont chop near the base or you,ll kill it as with all heavy pruning give your plant a feed and a drink...I'd leave some old wood(the woodyiest of stems)for some of the fragrance and blooms..if you do it , do it in spring
Reply:Jasminum (jasmine); should be pruned immediately after flowering, cut the jasmine hard in against the wall. It will not die from a hard pruning. Buy some summer flowering and let them mingle through each other. J. officinale will grow and spread to 5m or more, it has white flowers that are sweetly fragrant; J. parkeri which is again summer flowering with yellow flowers. Jasmine can be a very beautifully shrub/ climber when maintained properly.

Cooking basmati / Jasmine rice?
How best can one cook fluffy Basmati / Jasmine rice ?
Cooking basmati / Jasmine rice?
I like to boil my rice (on the stove) just a little bit longer than usual- to make sure it is soft and fully puffed.
After some practice (boiling rice like 10 times),i now know when my rice is done:
when i think the rice is ready, i scoop some rice out with a spoon which should feel heavyer then uncooked rice,i also tip my spoon back and let the rice fall back into the water - if it drops slowly, and makes a 'plop' sound when it reaches the water then it's ready!!!
You can also take a rice in between your thumb and finger and squash it - if its soft then it's done (and that's the most puffed up you can get it).
if you feel it's not soft enough (try popping one in your mouth to test it) you still have to boil it for longer.
Reply:Well, personally I have the best luck with a rice cooker. (I have a stainless steel CuisinArt and I love it). For some reason I've always had issues with rice on the stove top. It's never quite right
Reply:Gotta get yourself a rice cooker. Mine makes a delicious tadig on the bottom that we all fight over. the rice is perfect every time...every time. and the aroma of the cooking rice is to die for! Look for some persian recipes online on making a good crusty rice tadig.
Reply:Firstly it depends upon the type of rice you use. I normally use Basmati and find that I don't need to soak it. I normally cook rice like this - there are no specific measures because I don't particularly cook that way.
1. First put some rice into a non-stick frying pan. Amount depends on how many you want to feed - say so it covers around 1/3 inch of pan.
2. Add hot or cold water so that it has about half the amount of depth as the rice. Add around 1 teaspoon of salt.
3. Put on a high heat on the cooker and bring to the boil. Once boiling, cover and reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Leave it for 12 minutes.
4. When time is up turn off the heat, do NOT remove the cover but leave undisturbed for 15 mins, then serve. The steam will continue to cook the rice in this time. If I do too much then I freeze it and use it the next time I want to serve rice.
You can also do a simple Pillau rice this way . . .
1. This time melt 1/2oz butter or ghee (clarified butter) in the frying pan.
2. When melted add a chopped onion, small cinnamon stick, 6 whole black peppercorns, 6 green cardomom seeds - crush the pods before hand, 1-2 bay leaves. Cook until the onion is translucent.
3. Add the rice and mix well, continue frying for 2 or 3 mins, then half a teaspoon of turmeric. Mix well so that the turmeric is consistently spread through the rice.
4. Follow from step 2 in the first recipe.
Reply:Follow the instructions on the packet. If you don't have a rice cooker like all of these fancy pants here, use the microwave. i can neva get rice right on a stove top, but perfect everytime in the microwave!!! Remember, the secret for jasmine is to rinse the starch away after it is cooked in hot water, otherwise it will taste like glue!!!!

Reply:this is the most authentic way to cook Basmati rice---
ingriedients-2 cups basmati rice(duh) 4 cups water, 2 tsp cooking butter, 1" stick cinnamon, 2-3 cloves, 5-6 black peppercorns, 0ne pod each of green and black cardamom.
yield-enough to feed 4 hungry people
first of all, wash the rice nicely in 3-4 changes of fresh water. then soak in fresh water for about 1/2 hour.
second, get a heavy, thick based stockpot or saucepan(heavy enough to cause serious injury if used as a weapon, thick enough to be bulletproof!)
add the butter, over a medium heat and quickly stir-fry the spices in hot butter. smell the goodness...
third, throw in the rice you soaked beforehand(after draining it) and saute quickly over medium heat for about a minute. keep stiiring to prevent them from sticking to the pan.
finally add the measured amount of water(4 cups) and turn up the heat. bring the pot to the boil, and cover. boil covered at high heat, without stirring, until the water barely boils up to the surface of the rice. keep checking the rice every minute. check a few grains for doneness (you want an "al-dente" texture, like italian pasta)
now bring the heat to low, and cook uncovered to remove extra water. use a flat spatula to carefully move back the rice from one side of the pot, and see how much water remains. boil it off at low heat. do not stir or disturb the rice otherwise they will stick like Krazy glue.
when only a little water is left, turn off the heat and let the steam escape. serve rice after ten minutes.

Reply:Go to Thai Town.. there are many Thai grocer stores.
I also live in southern California.. I bought it at Ranch 99.
Reply:In and around L.A in the Vietnamese areas I have found it and a number of good ones, here in Canada, I get the Elephant brand at my Asian market in the Chinatown area of Toronto.
For me any one packed in a burlap bag is best, or the nyloon type the rice breathes and does not go stale like in a plastic bag.

What is the difference between Jasmine rice and regular rice?
I was in the grocery store today in search of some "boil in a bag" rice, and found that the Jasmine rice was about $.60 cheaper than the regular, so I bought it. I thought Jasmine rice was a better quality rice, therefore should be costing more. What are the differences? Which is best? (I'm cooking it now, and it smells nice! :-)
What is the difference between Jasmine rice and regular rice?
JASMINE RICE is a specialty or gourmet rice with a slight jasmine aroma after cooking and cooks to nice firm rice. It is just slightly sticky when compared to Basmati, which is not sticky at all. Jasmine rice is grown in Thailand.
BEST USES:Pilafs, Side dishes, Plain boiled white rice
NOT VERY GOOD for puddings, burgers or any dish where the rice is not displayed whole. For such dishes parboiled rice or short grained rice is preferred.
Excellent choice when cooking Thai curries and Vietnamese dishes
CLASSIC THAI FRIED RICE:
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 cup green peas
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 cups dry jasmine rice
3 cups water
salt to taste
In a large saucepan over a medium-low heat, warm the oil. Add onion and saute for 3 to 5 minutes. Mix in green peas, bay leaf, and jasmine rice. Stir to coat the rice.
Pour 3 cups water into the saucepan and add the salt. Increase the heat to medium and let the rice come to a quick simmer. Reduce heat to low and let rice simmer lightly and sit uncovered until all of the liquid is absorbed. Cover the rice and remove from heat, let sit approximately 10 minutes. Serve with curry, steamed vegetables and side dish of fresh tomato salsa.

Reply:just because it's jasmine it doesn't mean it's better quality.. it also depends on grain length and how sticky it gets after cooked
Reply:Jasmine rice smells really good when it's cooked.
Reply:Jasmine rice is fragrent rice. Nice Jasmine smell..
Thats all. Usually it is more expensive than Calrose or long grain.

Reply:The jasmine rice I buy comes out very sticky so that it holds together on your plate. My family loves it like this as do I. So I've pretty much switched to just making jasmine rice now. I think it has more starch in it if it is stickier.

Reply:Jasmine rice is simply what the rice imported from Thailand is called.
