How can I extract tannins from Arabian Jasmine bark?
By making an infusion of the bark. An infusion is made simply by soaking the bark in water. Many tannins and lignins are more soluble in a more basic solution, but it would depend on your intended use of the extracted substance.

If you evaporate the infusion, you're left with the water soluble, non volatile solids from the bark. Your tannins are both water soluble and non-volatile.
Reply:Break up the bark the best you can (pound to a pulp, or dry and powder) then add a mixture of 70% acetone and 30% water. Still occasionally. For how long can be your experiment. I suggest taking out the plant matter after 1-2 days and adding it to clean mix of acetone and water. Let it sit for another 1-2 days, remove the plant matter, and add the mixtures together.
