We are trying to clean out our side yard and make it a small play area for the kids. The Asian Jasmine has taken over! Weed-eating, and pulling are not doing the job, and we really don't want to have to till everything up back there. Is there something we can spray that will kill it? Keep in mind that kids will be playing back there at some point, so we don't want it to become a nuclear waste area. :) Your help would be appreciated!
How do you get rid of Asian Jasmine?
Tilling probably wouldn't do the job. You'd just end up with more little cuttings. You would really need to dig it out to a deep level and refill with soil or a play surface material.
I wouldn't use the amount of poison you'd need to kill it if your kids are going to play there.
I suggest just using the lawn mower or weed eater on it just as you would if it were lawn grass and let the kids play on top of it.
