How do I get the 'white stuff' off my Jasmine tree?

My new jasmine tree has a whitish powder on the sleeves? What is it and how do I get rid of it? How often will the tree flower? Where can I get more info on the Jasmine tree?

Home remedy for powdery mildew is a tablespoon of baking soda in a gallon of water, applied to the foliage. Or you can check for commercial fungicides. Also, pay attention to air circulation...see that it is good. Poor circulation along with humidity are the perfect environment for powdery mildew to thrive.
Reply:Knitswift, What I should have put in my answer but I did not include was if you are unsure of what your problem is...contact your local cooperative extension office and ask to speak with a Master Gardener. They know their 'stuff' for the local area...and their services are free. Report It

Reply:Sleeves? How about the cuffs?
Reply:Powdery mildew appears as a dusty white to gray coating over leaf surfaces or other plant parts. In most cases this fungal growth can be partially removed by rubbing the leaves. It might be identified incorrectly as dust that has accumulated on the leaves.
Reply:I think it's a fungi, and the best place to look for treatment is from the nursery you bought it from, unless it's Wal-Mart. That nice old lady who is working because her social security isn't enough to pay for her medications may not know the answer.
Reply:I'd bet that you have a horny neighbor boy who is masturbating on the plant at night. Stay up late and see if you can catch him. Good luck.
