Is Jasmine a good name?
IT'S A VERY PRETTY NAME BUT BECAUSE IT IS DIFFERANT EVERYONE IS STARTING TO NAME THERE KIDS NAMES LIKE THAT...BUT IT IS VERY PRETTY
Reply:i think it is wonderful..i would spell it jazzmine i think it is way cute
Reply:love it considering its my favorite flower :)
would you consider different versions like Yasmine (i think that's arabic version(??) ) just to give it a little tang!?
Reply:BEAUTIFUL! Enough said!
Reply:Jasmine is extremely common!! But hey common is better than walking around with a kid named Jakima!!
Reply:very pretty name. it is becoming very popular though. i work at a school and there are 3 in the pre school program alone.
Reply:Love it, She could call herself Jazzy if she's a funky kid growing up or stay with the 'pretty' name of Jasmine.
Jazzy-Lynn...
Reply:I love that name!
Reply:When I think of the name Jasmine i think of Jasmine from disney's aladdin and want to break out singing "A Whole New World"
Reply:Jasmine is a beautiful name.
Reply:Lynn is too plain for a beautiful name like Jasmine.
How about:
Jasmine Lily
Jasmine Rose
Jasmine Claire
Jasmine Delia
Reply:Jasmine is a very popular name, There is 3 girls in my family with that name. It is a pretty name
Reply:very cute
Reply:Jasmine is a nice name.
Reply:Jasmine Lynn sounds beautiful. Jasmine is a very, very popular name as is Lynn for a middle name. You could always add one more name (for example, Jasmine Rose Lynn, or add a family name) so that her name will truly be unique. I know a lot of people think it is weird to give a child an unique name, but with all the identity theft happening, it's almost a necessity!
Reply:Really pretty
Reply:it is a very pretty name, but after the Disney movie came out, a lot of people started using it. look for something unique to you and your child. search the web for origins and meaning. you'll find something that feels right to you.
Reply:I like it..... It's definatley popular.....which kinda sucks...but how about mixing things up by spelling it- Jazmyn Lynne???????

How hardy is pink jasmine and what fertilizer is best?
I love the smell of pink jasmine, but I have really poor soil. I live in the south so it would have plenty of heat. I went to Home Depot and they had pink jasmine and wow it was the best smelling plant there. Just wanting to know if any of you have one and were you happy with your purchase.
How hardy is pink jasmine and what fertilizer is best?
I have white jasmin which is also very fragrant. I'm in Oregon, so I can tell you that it stands up well to months of rain and can survive an occasional temperature drop to below 20.
It's a hardy plant and can survive a lot. Just keep it watered during the hot water. Occasionally you could give it some general fertilizer like Miracle Grow, but it's not a heavy feeder
You could improve your soil by working in come compost. If you don't have compost, buy a bag of planting soil and work it into the soil before planting your jasmine.
I have my jasmine, some honeysuckle and roses growing right outside my bedroom window. It's just heavenly when I open the window on a summer night. :-) Enjoy your jasmine!.
Reply:They are easy to grow. Use compost to amend the soil and fertilize once a month. Water regularly and dont let it dry out. Put a trellis so that it can grow up. If you clip some flowers and put it in the house it will make it smell so nice. I only have the white one and am satisfied, the pink one sounds even prettier.

How do you cook Jasmine Rice??
My daughter gave me a 5 lb bag of Jasmine Rice. Does anyone have any good recipes?
I have tried making rice before but it always came out sticky and horrible. Is there a difference between Jasmine and long grain rice?
I heard that you should soak it in water for a couple hours before you cook it. Is that true?
How do you cook Jasmine Rice??
HOW TO COOK JASMINE RICE
2 1/2 cups Thai jasmine rice
3 cups water
Place rice in a small saucepan (approx. 2-1/2 qt). Rinse rice by running cold water over two or three times to cover and pouring the water out. This rids the rice of excess starch powder and broken rice which makes the cooked rice mushy and sticky. Add just enough water to cover the top of the rice by 1/2-inch (approximately 3 cups).
A convenient trick is to place your middle finger, just touching the top of the rice in the pan. The water level should be just below the first joint of your finger, from the tip. No measuring needed.
Cover the pot with the lid. Place over medium to medium high heat. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, another 10 minutes, until the water has completely evaporated.
Turn off the burner and allow rice to sit, covered, for at least another 5 minutes. Serve hot or at room temperature (especially with spicy curries). Serves 2 to 3.
Reply:considering a 5 lb bag of rice, I assume your daughter bought it at a foreign grocery market.
As a rule I rinse Jasmine rice, whether it says New Crop on the bag or not. You need not soak it for hours however, just a quick rinse in a colander to remove any excess bran, shake well and you're good to go.
Now cooking it might be different.
Boil the water, stir in the rice, lower the heat, then place a folded towel over the top of the pot, making sure none of the towel is long enough to reach the burner, and then place the lid on the pot, trapping all the steam.
DO NOT OPEN the pot.
After 10 minutes, take the pot off the stove.
LEAVE IT ALONE!
After 5 minutes, fluff it with a fork.
Great, aromatic light flavor.

Is jasmine tea the same as green tea?
I know that green tea detoxifies your body %26amp; what not. but does jasmine tea have the same effect, if not, what does it do?
Is jasmine tea the same as green tea?
Jasmine is a kind of floral green tea. That is, the green tea is left alongside some jasmine flowers to absorp its fragrance. It is just another type of green tea.
How good it is really depend on where you get it from.
The healthiest green tea is loose-leaf or original teabags. Read the following link to find out more.
Hope it helps.

New jasmine vine is this rain for 2 days straight going to damage it?
i planted it about 1 week ago or there abouts... maybe 2 now.
I was told they don't need much water and not to over water plants period. Is this going to damage it? I feel like a farmer right now and like i am going to lose my crop.
Is there anything i can do if tomorrow there is another day like this and this rain IS indeed going to ruin my beautiful Jasmine vine?

Is jasmine rice a refined product?
is jasmine rice (white color, not brown) refined or not?
thank you..
Is jasmine rice a refined product?
Refined?
I'd say yes... the rice is white so the hull has been removed through a milling process.
Reply:processed by removal of the hull, but not technically "refined"
Reply:Jasmine rice (Thai: ข้าวหอมมะลิ; kao hom mali) is a long-grain variety of rice that has a nutty aroma and subtle flavor. This rice should be rinsed before cooking to rid it of extra starch. The grains will cling when cooked, though having less amylopectin, it is less sticky than other rices. Most households in Thailand consume this type of rice and it is commonly found in supermarkets, this type of rice is mainly used for many types of rice dishes or plain white rice in Thailand. Hawkers and most commercial establishments do not use this type of rice for cooking due to its high price.

Just something to factor in, especially as you have time to consider your choice.

Reply:I LOVE the name Lily Jasmine! I almost named my 6 year old "Lily Jane" but decided to name her after my Mom, instead. Although I don't regret doing so, my daughter has grown to look just like a "Lily". I like the way Lily rolls off the tongue more easily than Laila, and there are less sharp sounds in that name. It's also cute how lily and jasmine are both flowers.

Can Jasmine grow inside?
Can a Jasmine plant grow inside? I love the smell and want to bring it in.
Thanks
Can Jasmine grow inside?
Maybe, if you have a large container and a very bright place to put it. I want to issue a warning though. The plant Carolina Jessamine (jasmine) is very poisonous so if this is the jasmine you have or are planning on getting make sure pets or children will not be around it. One flower can kill a 40lb life form.
Reply:its possible if you keep it in full sun and dont let the soil dry out. its a plant that gets big though and spreads so itd have to be in a pretty darn big pot.
Reply:Jasmine likes the outdoors and grows strongly towards sunlight. I have had it grow 8' to get to sunlight. It likes water and branches heavily as well as having very long invasive roots. Better to get a candle or incense that smell like jasmine.
Reply:Take a look at Arabian Jasmine (J. sambac) - you may be able to grow that inside. We have one that we bring in every winter when it drops consistently below 50 degrees, and it will be five years old this summer.
Reply:I agree with the others when they say a rather large pot should be needed. Also, it would have to be in a spot where it can get PLENTY of sun, as it is the type of plant that not only does it need good soil, but as much sun as possible.
I personally don't think that it will bloom and be wonderful as you want it inside your house. Maybe you should consider planting it by a window so that the aroma may be inside the house through it.
But for more information, you might want to visit P Allen Smith's website, with tons of information and tips. Good luck!
Thanks

Buying jasmine flowers?
Where can I buy jasmine flowers? I want to send a box to my boyfriends mom because she LOVES the smell of them...I cant really find any websites that sell them?
Buying jasmine flowers?
Usually individual jasmine flowers are not sold, as they are too small. You might be interested in buying her the jasmine vine; although there are several. One is star jasmine, the little white one dotted all over an evergreen bush. Another is pink jasmine, which opens pink and goes to a blush white. It is not very fragrant, however. Star Jasmine or Confederate Jasmine is the most common type and can be bought at any good nursery or online.

Does Jasmine tea or any decaffinated tea stop iron absorbtion?
I am trying to find out if anyone knows if decaffinated tea or Jasmine tea stops iron absorbtion. My iron levels are so low and I know that drinking Earl Grey caffinated has not helped.
Does Jasmine tea or any decaffinated tea stop iron absorbtion?
Most teas, decaffeinated or not, interfere with iron absorption. They do not stop the absorption. The substances in teas that do this are tannins, which are found in larger amounts in coffee, tea, grapes, red wine, purple or red rice, bran fiber, and chocolate.
Almost all plants have tannins in some form.
I found a link about iron absorption and one about tannins for you.
Reply:Agree.
All teas interfere with iron absorption. The fact that tea is an antioxidant (and therefore binds with metals) means it interferes with iron absorption.
To put this into perspective, many foods and beverages also reduce the amount of non-heme iron we absorb. These include coffee, dairy, fiber, eggs and some chocolate. Calcium can impair the absorption of both non-heme and heme iron.
Therefore if you need more iron, you should avoid these foods. But if you have too much iron, you should eat more of them.
If you suffer from or are prone to iron deficiency, the following tips might help:
Cut down on tea and coffee, especially black tea, and even some herbal varieties.
Add lemon juice to your cuppa. Some people prefer milk, but milk won’t help you absorb more iron - lemon does.
If you drink loose tea, brew it half-strength. Add 2 to 3 grams of loose leaves per cup. Avoid full-strength tea.
Avoid drinking tea with a meal, or half an hour afterwards.
Avoid drinking tea if you are having a period.

Reply:Hi! I bought mine last month with only about 3 fruits in it. It didn't develop much for a few weeks after I bought it, but now it already has very fragrant blooms. I placed in outside our house under a shady area, but still catches the morning sunlight. You may want to put it outside first and wait if something happens.

What's the typical price for Jasmine rice?
I bought a 25lb bag for $19 at a Indian supermarket. When I got home my house mate balked at the price. I noticed in a traditional supermarket a similar bag of Jasmine for less although it said "with broken grains".
So did I pay too much?
Is there a noticeable difference between brands of jasmine?
Does broken grains have any effect on the taste or merely cosmetic?
Btw, I was going to buy Basmati but it was more than twice as expensive as the Jasmine.
What's the typical price for Jasmine rice?
6.78$
Reply:broken grains will not cook the rice the same, it will be mushier, it's best to get a high quality rice.
Reply:Jasmine is usually 15 to 25% more than regular rice of the same quantity.

Birth Control -- Is 'Jasmine' the same as 'Yasmin'??? Help!?
Is the birth control pill 'Jasmine' (manufactured by SCHERING in Germany) the exact same birth control pill as 'Yasmin' (manufactured by BERLEX, also from Germany)? My prescription is for Yasmin but my friend has like six packages of Jasmine she's going to throw out! Her doctor prescribed them to her to help her with her skin problems, now those problems are gone and she's just going to throw out the pills...I'd hate for her to waste them (she doesn't want to either) so if they're the same birth control pill -- just by a different name in Europe/France than the US -- I'll use them. Any help???
Birth Control -- Is 'Jasmine' the same as 'Yasmin'??? Help!?
Hi i wouldnt take it. Go and see a doctor or ask someone at the chemist they are always very helpfull if you havent got time to see your doctor. I take Yasmin.

Birth Control Pills and Breast Cancer
November 22nd, 2006
As Dorian noted in NewsSquawk a few weeks back, a meta-analysis of breast cancer data recently revealed a statistically significant correlation between use of the contraceptive pill prior to full-term pregnancy and premenopausal breast cancer.
I finally got a moment to hop over to Procedings, the journal of the Mayo Clinic that reported on the study, and while the article itself is limited to subscribers, the editorial that offers analysis on the findings is open to all.
First off, I was amazed to read that the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which is part of the World Health Organization, categorized the contraceptive pill as a carcinogen in 2005. Granted, I’ve been a bit baby absorbed for the last couple of years, but I cannot believe I never read this news anywhere. Did it get any press? If not, why not?
Now for the findings…it appears that women who have ever used birth control pills have a ”small but statistically significant increased risk of breast cancer”. Furthermore, use of the Pill before having one’s first full-term pregnancy is more strongly associated with breast cancer than being on the Pill after having delivered a baby. The association is even stronger where these pre-baby Pill users were on birth control pills for four years or more. (The editorial further notes, “A higher risk of breast cancer for OC use before first full-term pregnancy was first described more than 25 years ago by Pike et al…” - again, I’m very surprised that evidence linking the Pill and breast cancer has been uncovered for so long, with so little press.)....

from Suzanne's book:
Those of us who were on the original birth control pills for any length of time were actually on synthetic hormones- strong synthetic hormones. Any wonder why women of our generation are under siege from an epidemic of breast and ovarian cancers? There is a link, and you'll learn more about it in this book.
Read on and see if you relate to my scenario: As I said, for twenty-two years, I was on synthetic birth control pills, the original ones that were very strong. I even manipulated my periods with them, if I didn't want to have a period on a particular weekend. I just didn't realize what was in those birth control pills, nor did I understand the dangers of messing with nature.
I did not realize that having only a two-day bleed meant that I was not ovulating fully. At the time, I thought it was great to have such a light period. I did not realize that the importance of ovulation in the human female body is to let the brain know that I was well, healthy, and reproductive. As far as my brain was concerned, I was not reproductive because I was not fully ovulating. An ovulating woman is a reproductive woman.
To believe that the body is not fully ovulating is a dangerous assumption for the brain to make. If the brain perceives us as unable to reproduce, its job, biologically speaking, is to try to eliminate us to make room for the reproductive ones. This is the nature in us. This is the template that was programmed in us from ancient times. Thus, this hormonal imbalance that I unknowingly put myself in was creating a backdrop for cancer. Why? Because we all have cancer in us, but as long as we are hormonally balanced, the brain perceives us as young, strong, and healthy. If we become imbalanced, this signals to the brain that the reproductive system is no longer in working order, and it is in this scenario that the cancer has a chance to come into being.
You see, cancer proliferates in an environment of hormonal imbalance. This is why I believe that Western medicine's standard of care, well-meaning as it is, is treating us incorrectly. Western medicine is looking at everything except the obvious. Western medicine is trying to poison the cancer out of us, further wreaking havoc with our hormonal systems.
Then, to prevent recurrence, we are given hormone ablation drugs such as tamoxifen or Femara, which interfere with the body's ability to read the hormones in some parts of the body. Plus, for many women these drugs cause horrible side effects. To me, it doesn't make sense to take any drug that prevents new hormones from being made in our bodies or to kill off any of the little bit of hormones we might have left. Why has Western medicine been trying to outthink nature? We are given fake hormones that don't replicate exactly what our bodies make naturally, and doctors are expecting them to work in the same way or better. It hasn't worked. Look around. Are the women you know doing well from midlife on? Most everyone has complaints, from mild to severe. No wonder women are in such bad shape.
Once you understand the importance of your brain perceiving the body as reproductive--our "brain template"--it will be easier for you to make decisions for yourself. We assume that the professionals who are taking care of us know what they are doing. But they can't know what they haven't been taught, and unless you find yourself a doctor such as the ones....
Reply:You should ask your health care professional. Take it to your doctor! I was once given the wrong birth control pill and I felt like CRAP when I took it!
Reply:NEVER take someone else's prescription.
Just take your own Yasmin.

How tall is Jasmine Harman?
Just watched channel 4's place in the sun presented by Jasmine Harman and she seemed REALLY tall. But the ladies she was showing around Poland could just have been quite short! Though Jasmine did seem to be brushing the top of the doorways that she went through! Her website doesn't mention anything about it so I was hoping someone might know.

Different types of jasmine?
A friend of mine bought a jasmine topiary for me a couple of years ago as a get-well gift -- it smelled wonderful! It had tiny white flowers with the barest of pink in the center. Can anyone tell me what type this is? I've checked out star jasmine (MUCH larger flowers) and its too strong. Thanks much!!

There is also a confederate jasmine like the one you have described.
Reply:Where you are I have no idea where to get jasmani. What you describe is the jasmine I know and have growing in front of my house. Yes it does smell very nice.
I bet if you find people from SE Asia you can find where to get it. It grows wild here and a lit of it.

Jasmine Rice?
does anyone have a good recipe to try for jasmine rice?
Jasmine Rice?
try this one..
Chinese Jasmine Rice
2 cups basmati rice
20-25 jasmine fresh edible flowers
1 tablespoon oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 medium yellow bell pepper, de-seeded and finely chopped
1 medium red bell pepper, de-seeded and finely chopped
salt
3-4 stalks green onions, finely chopped
Soak rice in 4 cups of water for 30 minutes and then drain.
Boil 5 cups of water with salt.
Fold in the rice.
After sometime, combine jasmine flowers in a round sachet and add to the water. Let the flowers soak in the water containing the rice for a few minutes(i.e, until the rice is half cooked).
When the rice is half cooked, remove the sachet of flowers, drain the water and keep the rice aside.
Now heat oil in a non-stick pan.
Toss in the onion and saute for a few minutes.
Add both bell peppers and saute for a few minutes.
Fold in the rice and gently stir to combine.
Add salt and spring onion greens.
Mix well, cover and cook till the rice is fully cooked but the grains are separate.
Serve hot.
Enjoy!
Reply:Jasmine Rice is good with anything!! Anything you normally make with rice, you can use Jasmine Rice.
Reply:lentils are good with jasmine rice. . .
Reply:I suggest to keep the lovely white color, add only salt and then cook in a rice cooker. If you have white stock, that will add flavour without color. Also, you can make it light and rich with coconut milk and then fluff it up before serving.
Reply:I use it all the time, and do Chinese Stir fry with it. It is a lovely rice. You can also put a bit of Cumin with it to colour it. Add raisins
Look for Chinese Stir Fry recipes on the net.
Also, can be used for Sushi.

I am getting a jasmine flower with filipino writing on it just above my hip bone. What color should i get it, so that it shows up really great on my skin tone?

Reply:depending on the color of the brown skin - yellow - pink if tone is lighter -- but if your skin is dark nothing looks better on dark skin than blue - royal blue - turquoise - a bright blue -- absolutely beautiful!!

Jasmine oil and labor?
Has anyone heard that Jasmine oil (aromatheorpy) will help induce labor? I'm 38 weeks and ,my husband comes home today and is here until sat and then returns back to the army and deploys to Iraq. I want him to see his baby so bad! I am dialated to one right now.... but... well anyhone else that is a military wife understands. The next time my husband will be able to see the baby wont be for another 9 months!! Any ideas?? Please help
Jasmine oil and labor?
hmm. in my first pregnancy, i rubbed a balm i made of jasmine oil, shea butter and cocoa butter on my stomach, hips, back every night, sometimes twice a day. i went into labor on my due date. so no induction for me...but maybe you have to use a lot?
Reply:Have lots of sex!!!! Get your heart beating by walking. It worked for me at 38 weeks. Good luck
Reply:Everything I scanned on jasmine oil showed only that it was used for helping with labor pains, not inducing labor. Sorry.
As the other posters said, sex and walking. I understand your frustration. My AF sister in law is being induced today, finally. Her dr waited until she was 2 weeks overdue. My AF brother got home 2 weeks ago on leave for the arrival of this little guy. He has to leave in 10 days now to go back to Korea. I cant believe her dr didnt induce her sooner. Bummer. Hopefully you will pop before hubby has to leave. Good luck dear!!! I will be thinking about you
Reply:Ask your Dr to induce. Under the circumstances he may. I would do everything I could to go in labor. Walk, or have sex! Good Luck
Reply:Get out and walk or have some sex. This is understandable, maybe your doctor will be willing to induce for you.
Reply:Accupuncture can be used to induce labour. Unless you know how to use the jasmine oil properly, then it's unlikely to work. See a professional.

Jasmine plant?
I am really wanting to get a jasmine plant because I love the smell. I just wanted to know if they are really hard to care for and what kind of care do they require? (light/shade, lots of what/little water etc.)
Oh, and I live in an apartment so I will have to be potted.
~thanks.
Jasmine plant?
There are 3 basic types of Jasmine:
1. Star Jasmine - Trachelospermum jasminoides
Blooms early summer, white flowers. Very versatile, can be cut and grown as a groundcover, or given support will vine 20 ft. Sun to part shade.
2. Pink Jasmine - Jasminum polyanthum
Ferny folage, pink buds open to white flowers. Blooms late winter. Needs support, will vine to 15 ft or so. Sun to part shade.
3. Night Blooming Jasmine - Cestrum nocturnum
Upright shrub, frost tender, blooms late summer tiny flowers with strong fragrance. Sun to part shade.
All can grow in a pot. All take moderate water. Good luck :-)
Reply:we've had jasmine for years, in pots, inside. they are not hard to care for at all, you just have to place them and not move them. they like consistancy. water when dirt feels dry to the touch. they thrive best in medium sunlight. try to choose a morning-afternoon sunlight position, like a south-east place in the home.
your plant will reward you greatly with consistent bloom/flower cycles. :)
Reply:I suggest the "Star Jasmine" its a vine plant. It is hard to take care of. It likes the shade but needs some light. Water carefully, I've had two of these things and both died, but then again I was never home. The smell is great, if you can get it near a window with the right lighting, you'll never need incense in your house.

Jasmine plant?
I want to know about jasmine plants?
Jasmine plant?
Jasmine (Jasminum) is a genus of shrubs and vines in the Family Oleaceae, with about 200 species, native to tropical and warm temperate regions of the Old World. The majority of species grow as climbers on other plants or on structures. The leaves can be either evergreen or deciduous, and are opposite in most species; leaf shape is simple, trifoliate or pinnate with up to nine leaflets.
Jasmine flowers are white in most species, but with some species being yellow flowered. Unlike most genera in the Oleaceae which have four corolla lobes ('petals'), jasmines often have five or six lobes. They are often strongly and sweetly scented. Flowering is in spring or summer in most species, but in a few species, notably J. nudiflorum, in winter on the bare branches of this deciduous species.
The common name 'jasmine' is often given to unrelated plants with pale, sweetly-scented flowers and dark green leaves, such as Trachelospermum species (Confederate or star jasmine), Gardenia jasminoides (Cape jasmine), and Gelsemium species (Carolina jasmine).
Cultivation and uses
Jasmines are widely cultivated for their flowers, to be enjoyed in the garden, as house plants, and for cut flowers. The flowers are worn by women in their hair in southern and southeast Asia. Some claim that the daily consumption of Jasmine tea is effective in preventing certain cancers. Many species also yield an essential oil, which is used in the production of perfumes and incense.
Jasminum sambac flowers are also used to make tea, which typically has a green tea or Oolong base. The delicate Jasmine flower opens only at night and is plucked in the morning when the tiny petals are tightly closed. They are then stored in a cool place until night. Between six and eight in the evening, as the temperature cools, the petals begin to open. Flowers and tea are "mated" in machines that control temperature and humidity. It takes four hours or so for the tea to absorb the fragrance and flavour of the Jasmine blossoms, and for the highest grades, this process may be repeated as many as seven times. Because the tea has absorbed moisture from the flowers, it must be refired to prevent spoilage. The spent flowers may or may not be removed from the final product, as the flowers are completely dry and contain no aroma. They simply add visual appeal and are no indication of the quality of the tea.
Jasminum sambac is also the National Flower of Indonesia, where it is known as "Melati", and the Philippines, where it is known as "Sampaguita". In Indonesia (especially the island of Java), it is the most important flower in wedding ceremonies for ethnic Indonesians. Jasminum officinale is the National Flower of Pakistan, where it is known as the "Chambeli".
J. fluminense is an invasive species in Hawaii, where it is sometimes known by the inaccurate name "Brazilian Jasmine". J. dichotomum is also invasive in Florida.
Reply:I bought one last year and it didn't do much but this year it has tripled in size but still no blooms.
Reply:Confederate Jasmine is a vining version with pretty white somewhat fragrant bloom. It's grows quickly. Mine are planted in part sun/part shade. Morning sun %26amp; afternoon shade is best.

Jasmine plant is dying!?
I have a jasmine plant, and most of the leaves have dried up and died. There is only one small stem coming from near to the base of the plant which still looks green and healthy.
I have cut all the dead stems down to earth level, but how do I stop the last healthy part of the plant from dying. The earth is quite moist. Did I overwater? I have only had the plant for about 4 months. When I got it there were flowers and buds on it. Some of the buds dropped off without opening, but I don't know why. Please help
Jasmine plant is dying!?
What type of Jasmine is it, and what part of the country do you live in?
The kind with White flowers is called Confederate and it is in the tropical range, may not winter in cooler climates.
The yellow blooming Carolina Jasmine can live in most cooler climates, some will lose their leaves but come back in the spring, while in warmer to mild, will stay green all winter.
So if yours is the yellow blooming type, do not give up yet, start watering it and a bit of miracle grow now that spring is here and see if buds start to come on. But if you live in the North and bought white blooming Confederate Jasmine, Good Luck. Would love to hear from your personally about the kind you have and if Confederate, did it come back if you are in a cold climate, cause you have a new breed I would LOVE to have a piece of! LOL
Sincerely,
Emily
Reply:There are generally 2 types of jasmine sold in garden centres in Europe. Both have whitte flowers and are beautifully scented especially the 1st type.
1. Stephanotis floribunda (Madagacar jasmine). this has a glorious scent with large white blooms of a silky texture. As its origin suggests it is a tropical plant of great beauty, and needs special care. Keep just moist in Winter with more watering in Summer. Do not place in full sun or full shade,
find it a home in a light warm situ and leave it there. Changes in temp. will not go down well with this beauty, and no daughts
please. Symptons of over watering are leaves turning yellow
and flower buds and leavea falling off. I had two quite large
ones of this variety, but lost them by over watering, killed by kindness, the most common demise of household plants.
2. Is the most common, sold in great abundance all over Europe, I forget its full name now, it is just sold as Jasmine.
This also has white flowers which are much smaller and of
a different texture to the above. These are hardy little devils
the only thing that will see them off is overwatering or being allowed to dry out completely. I have had one of this variety growing outside up my house for years now, it never fails each Spring to remind me its there . This will grow anywhere apart
from full sun window sill or total shade.
Both these varieties are climbers and are normally purchased winding their way around wire arches.
I suspect your jasmine to be the former, and I'm sorry to say
m'dear that your plant is beyond redemption, with regards to
the symptons you describe.
Never mind life goes on, its nearly Easter, go out and treat
yourself to a new plant, I recommend the Stephanotis. Follow the above guidelines and htis wonderful plant will give years
of pleasure both to the eye and the nose.
Happy Easter

By the way we have a beautiful spring day here, just nipping out to see whats growing, or isn't.
sorry i nearly forgot do not over feed..very weak solution twice year is sufficient
Reply:water and a slow release fertilizer should do the trick
Reply:Jasmine does like a moist soil, but it needs to be well-drained. That could be the problem. Also, extreme winters can severly damage the plant. This could be it also.

I have Confederate Jasmine on my place and have been unsuccessful in getting rid of it. No matter what i do it just keeps comming back. U would think that it is a Kudzu plant the way that it does not know how to die.
Reply:Bad watering is the most likely cause sounds like you have let it dry out at some stage the compost should be moist at all times! I would put it in a well lit spot and try to be more constant with the watering a little bit a day for the time being then increase as the weather warms up start feeding once a week from about mid April!

Jasmine earned $4,000 from her business?
Jasmine earned $4,000 from her business. She gave 1/5 of it to her daughter and son-in-law as a gift. She invested ½ of the remaining amount. How much did she have left?
Jasmine earned $4,000 from her business?
Start with 4000.
1/5 of 4000 = 800 leaves 3200
1/2 of 3200 = 1600
So she has 1600 remaining
Reply:"She gave 1/5 of it as a gift"
(1/5)$4000 = $800 gift
$4000-$800 = $3200 remaining
"She invested ½ of the remaining amount"
(1/2)$3200 = $1600 invested
$3200-$1600 = $1600 remaining
Reply:Earning = $ 4,000
Give 1/5 to her daughter %26amp; son-in-law
4,000 x 1/5 = 4,000/ 5 = $ 800
Remaining amount = 4,000 - 800 = $ 3,200
Invest 1/2 of 3,200 = 1/2 x 3,200 = 3,200/2 = $ 1,600
hOW MUCH DID SHE HAVE LEFT?
4,000 - 800 - 1,600 = $ 1,600 ==%26gt; LEFT TO HER
Reply:1600 bucks and that is enough for me to buy a new computer!
Reply:Well, 1/5 is 20%. 20% of $4000 is 800.
4000 - 800 = 3200.
1/2 of 3200 is 1600
She has 1600 left

Jasmine by Takamine guitars, how do they line up with other guitars?
Im looking to buy a new acoustic electric guitar, and to make a long story short i was going to go with a brand i know more about (probably an ibanez because i have never played one i didnt like), but one day my dad throws a magazine down in front of me and says i can get these through work for a lower price. So i start looking through the magazine, inside was Takamine and Jasmine by Takamine, i have heard of these guitars but i have never played one. The guitar i was looking at was a ES450C in charcoal and had a suggested retail of 600 dollars, so it is not one of the cheepies (those were also listed in the magazine). So i was just wondering how they are on the playability, tone and other aspects. And if someone could even tell me something about the height of the action on these guitars i would be even happier.
Jasmine by Takamine guitars, how do they line up with other guitars?
They are pretty good guitars about average if taken care of will last a lifetime
Reply:I've never found a Jasmine that didn't feel and sound good. I almost bought the Jasmine acoustic bass a few years ago (didn't quite have the money). It has great pickups as well.

Jasmine Green Tea caffeinated or decaffeinated?
Ever heard of Stassen Jasmine Green Tea?
I love the taste and relaxes me, but something else I've been trying to find out, reading the label box, and it's all in chinese and some in english. Nothing indicates whether it's caffeine or decaffeinated?
Looking for tea lovers whom may know more then me, with their replies...Big thanks Tea lovers!
Jasmine Green Tea caffeinated or decaffeinated?
I'm a real fan of jasmine green tea, and I don't believe I've ever seen a decaffeinated version of it. Assume your tea has about as much caffeine as a regular cup of green tea (about 20 milligrams per 8 ounces, or 1/4 as much as a cup of home-brewed coffee).
Tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid which is believed to produce feelings of relaxation in spite of the tea's caffeine content.
Reply:Unless you can find anything on the package specicifically saying that it is decaffinated, it is best to assume that there is caffeine. Also, the caffeine in tea is chemically different from that in coffee or sodas, and the difference can make tea produce a relaxed state instead of a jittery one.
Reply:Hello there! It's great to find someone else out there with a great love for tea. :) I love it! I worked at Starbucks for about 3 months and learned about the caffeine content of all types of teas, so to try and answer your question, one thing I know about green tea in general is that it typically contains the highest amount of caffeine compared to all other kinds. However, I don't know about your specific kind... I looked it up but couldn't find anything concrete or legitimate about its caffeine content. I've heard that it's lower in caffeine than typical green teas, but I'm not sure... I do hope this helps a bit. Happy sipping! :)

Comments?: “Oh-my-gosh,” screamed Jasmine at the laughing boys ahead of her, “You dweebs got snow all over my
hair!”
Jasmine’s eyes, which had a tendency to look like the ocean, were filled with violent rage as she said, “I hate you! I’m never talking to you again!”
Then the three boys fell to the icy ground and laughed harder than ever. They could barely see infuriated Jasmine walk away for her eyes were filled with many tears. After she was out of sight they heard a bloodcurdling scream. The cries of joy halted and were replaced by crunching snow under their boots. As they neared a strange shape in the snow they slowed their running pace to a walk.
“Do you think we should be here?” inquired the smallest boy, “I can’t see the school.”
When they arrived at the mysterious figure they all gasped. She had long brown hair which was obviously straitened, a pale white face that was dotted with freckles, and of course she had heavy winter clothes on. It was Jasmine. But in her hands was a strange emerald bag. The smallest boy stepped back while the tallest reached for it, peaked in and screamed.

i'm assuming you want comments because you wrote this yourself?
i am no expert at writing literature but i am a reader of novels
and the ending makes me yearn for more. what was in the bag? why did the smallest boy automatically know to move back?
but the part "which was obviously straitened" sounds awkward. might want to rephrase that sentence if you want to keep it in
